It is when a story talks about a character–it may be an inanimate object too — and it comes alive as though it is a real character. (like those animals in the movie Jhumanji). Can someone tell me what this literary term is? Thanks!
Writing an essay can be frustrating and difficult. However, if planned properly and chosen wisely, your essay can stand out from the crowd because of its quality and richness in content.
The first thing your essay should have is an introductory paragraph. This paragraph has to be able to show exactly what your essay is about in only a couple of sentences. A great opening paragraph of an essay will show the reader exactly what they are going to read about and capture their interest straight away. This paragraph is also known as a thesis statement.
The next parts of your essay are the supporting paragraphs. These particular paragraphs make up the formation and the body of your written essay, and should be able to link together the different points you are making. A good tip here is to make a simple list of the points you are making in your essay. You can then develop your essay from this list by creating a supporting paragraph for every point made.
The final part of your essay should be the summary. This summary will conclude everything you have just written about in a few sentences. It differs from the introductory paragraph as that tells you what you are going to read; the summary paragraph tells the reader what they have already read.
You may already have your topic assigned to you for your essay or you may have to choose yourself. If you choose yourself, it is very important to be able to write fluently and confidently about your subject. Don’t pick a subject you know nothing about or are not very confident of. So, brainstorm a few ideas and pick your topic for your essay.
Then, prepare an outline or a diagram of your topic and any ideas you have for your specific essay. This structures your ideas and your essay by giving it a clear and well defined path to follow. If you feel that the structure you have prepared doesn’t work, don’t be afraid to tweak it here and there to make it work for you and your topic.
Write your thesis statement/opening paragraph and tell the readers what you as the writer are going to be showing them throughout your essay. What they will learn from it and the point you are trying to make within your essay.
Then you write your supporting paragraphs that make up your points list that you made earlier. Make a paragraph for each point and show your findings clearly and with solid facts, and possibly quotations or interviews.
Write the conclusion at the end, not during or at the beginning. Many people make the mistake of writing the conclusion before they have even finished and read through the final draft of the essay. Never do this as you may have written something else or become aware of other facts and figures later on in the essay writing process.
Once you have done all of this, you can go on to proofread what you have written. If you have the ability to do so, leave the essay overnight or for a couple of days and back to it with fresh eyes. This makes it easier to spot any spelling, grammatical or any other errors you may have made. If you can, let someone else go through it and proof it for you.

Listed below are some of the most common perceptions regarding hemorrhoids facts and more importantly, for those of us that worry, hemorrhoids fiction.
• Hemorrhoids turn into cancer.
Fiction: Hemorrhoids and cancer cells are completely different as cancerous cells are mutations of their former selves and not a swollen vein which is essentially what hemorrhoids are. Breathe a sigh of relief.
• Hemorrhoids are contagious.
Fiction: You cannot contract hemorrhoids through any form of contact with a sufferer. It is a complaint and not a disease, so don’t be afraid to be tactile with a sufferer, though just be careful where.
• Only men, pregnant women and the elderly get hemorrhoids.
Fiction: Any gender can get hemorrhoids at any time of life, though most will pass unnoticed. Pregnant women are more susceptible as they have extra pressure being applied to the lower abdomen and also may suffer constipation. The elderly are more likely to develop hemorrhoids as with age can come tissue weakness which increases the risk, though does not guarantee that every elderly person will suffer.
• Spending too long on the toilet can give you hemorrhoids.
Fact: This is true as the body automatically opens to pass waste product when sitting on the toilet. If a person sits for an extended period of time, the body will naturally continue to try to pass waste which prolongs the pressure to the cushion vein and can cause the tissue to weaken. Try not to treat your toilet as a library or puzzle room.
• Sitting on a cold surface will give you hemorrhoids.
Fiction: If a sufferer with external hemorrhoids sits on a cold surface this will not help as it will cause the swollen veins to contract increasing the discomfort. For all non sufferers, please be seated.
• Spicy foods will give you hemorrhoids.
Fiction: Eating spicy foods, including the myth of black pepper which seems to be quite prevalent, will not give you hemorrhoids. What may happen is that you could get an upset stomach which builds more pressure on the bowel, and/or diarrhea which will only go to irritate your hemorrhoids further. Eat curry at your own peril if you suffer.
• Overweight people are more likely to get hemorrhoids.
Fact: As with pregnancy, the carrying of extra weight on the abdominal area will add pressure which will result in an increase in the risk of developing hemorrhoids.
These are the most common hemorrhoids myths with the absence of one particular one of a more sexual nature, which I will place below. So for those of you who would prefer not to read on, please don’t.
• Anal intercourse will give you hemorrhoids.
Fiction: The act of anal intercourse, providing it is done correctly, will not give you hemorrhoids. A sufferer will certainly feel an increased sensation, pleasurable or not. Please, if you do practice this, take extra care and please perform this act correctly. I shall say no more.
I hope this article has answered some of your questions and brought some relief to those of us that worry too much and listen to other people’s pearls of wisdom.

Writers must be readers! That might be a strong statement but there are several reasons why reading and reading constantly and consistently makes us a better writer. We start to read at a young age and what we read, how much we read and how well we understand what we read shapes the writer within. When you read, several interesting things happen.
(1) Your vocabulary improves-reading broadens our vocabulary if we progressively grow in the difficulty of the material we read and if we read a wide variety of material.
(2) It should increase your use of the dictionary-as your vocabulary improves, you should take time to study new words, finding out their meaning and pronunciation. Even today, I try to take time to look up words and make sure I understand their meaning instead of guessing what they mean or just skipping over them.
(3) The world opens up- reading a variety of magazines and books takes you all over the world to different cultures, races, and areas. Many people read about a country in a book and then decide to visit. The possibilities are endless.
(4) It inspires your writing- I haven’t met a writer yet that wasn’t an avid reader. Something about reading and noticing how it affects other people, especially in a good way, makes me want to write something that will inspire and encourage others.
Growing up in rural Alabama with limited means left my brother and me with lots of time. A county bookmobile came to the little store near our house every month, a bright light indeed. We would pull our wagon up to the store with a clothes basket on it and check out the limit of books for the month. Then with our treasure in tow, we looked forward to adventure and intrigue as these books took us to far away places, places where there were no limits. My favorite books at this age were biographies of famous people, all in the same series, though I don’t recall the name. These books inspired me to know I could be more than I ever dreamed and shaped my younger life.
By the time I was in the eighth grade, I was writing poetry and short stories, shaped by the books I had read. Writing and reading have been part of my life for years. Over the years, I have read biographies, westerns, romance, mysteries, classics, inspirational and non-fiction of all types. I try to read a large scope of authors, subjects and styles. With me, I tend to get on a “kick”; maybe reading inspirations for a time, then some historical fiction, fantasy and the list goes on. Everything that I have read has combined to make me the writer that I am; it has given me my own style; my own “voice.” My love for reading will never dim for I know I am the better writer for it.

The other day I was reading about fictional stories and novels and how to write them. Imagine, people have written books on how to write a book! There are such a huge number of tips and methods being distributed online and otherwise that it could fill an entire ocean (if somebody dumped those tips in it! But, why would anybody?). Ok, the thing is that whether these tips and methods really work. Do they truly make writers? I mean, if a person does not have a flair for writing, can he or she deliver a gripping fictional story? Hmmm…
Writers are born, not made. Yep, they can be polished though. But, this”polishing”or”refining”of the writing skills can be done only on born-writers, mind you. Say, somebody has a technical mind, who loves to dismantle machines and even communicate with them. Such a mind would not be interested in exploring the world of words. What if this person reads books on how to write fictional stories? Do you think he or she would be able to produce an original and amazing novel? Well, I am not gonna answer this. It’s for you to ponder.
What actually is needed for writing fictional stories? Creativity, of course! But, this is not enough. Every human species on this earth is creative. But, not all can create a masterpiece on paper. Besides being creative, you need to be sensitive. You need to feel from your heart, feel everything that’s happening around you. Next is another c-word: crazy. Yes, guys, creativity makes you nuts! And we’re not talking about those lunatics in asylums. We’re talking about people who have the guts to do bizarre things. They are not bound with petty things, most common being,”what will people say?”
They act from their heart. Of course, you need a mind to write fictional stories, an intelligent mind that is. But, your heart should direct it. The characters that you create, the dialogues that you deliver, and the scenes that you enact on paper are the result of a free and frivolous imagination. You need to have an unlimited imagination to create stories that grip your readers till the last word. If you can do this, you need no book that guides you to write stories. Ah yes, you can seek advice from experts and writers of bestsellers for publishing and marketing your fictional story.
But, when it comes to writing fictional stories, trust your heart and unleash your imagination. Your mind will start working towards it naturally. Whether you want to write about your own life or something else, you must keep churning those ideas. And if you face the writers’ block (which happens with writers and is normal), you must find a way to combat it. The best way to do this is to brainstorm. Just start scribbling anything that comes to your mind. It can be irrelevant stuff too. Sooner or later, your mind will pop open and a flood of ideas will fill you.
So, are you still looking for books for guidance? Just read my blabber twice and thrice and you’ll find yourself writing already.
Want to write Fictional Stories, then be creative and feel from your heart what’s happening around you.
1. The country cannot grow economically if it continues to rely solely on revenue from oil trade.
2. It will improve domestic competitiveness of local industries and non oil export sector of the economy, thereby preventing our country from dumping ground of products made from Asia and other advanced economies.
3. It will enable the country to have various streams of income
4. It will encourage individual and organizations to go into business of non oil export thereby increasing our foreign earnings
5. It will in long-term move the country from being an import based to export based. A very good example is how Ghana cocoa research institute has been able to catapult Ghana ’s cocoa to about 700,000 tonnes from about 200,000 tonnes but in Nigeria we have remained at about 200,000 tonnes.
HOW TO GO ABOUT IMPROVING NON-OIL SECTOR
i. Government should expedite action and enforce policies towards resuscitating the failing non-oil export industry.
ii. Government should improve on export incentives and infrastructures.
iii. Government should make information about non-oil export available to peoples through its agencies.
iv. Government should review policies and practices that are not favourable to the exporters.
v. Government should apply a national export strategy which will inculcate the export culture in the country.
vi. Nigerians should be encouraged about how to make use of Free Export Processing Zones located across the nation as it has immense benefits such as tax exemption, power, business advocacy etc.
vii. Individual and organizations on their own should embrace non-oil export businesses and that is why organization like THE THY CONSULTING has been encouraging and teaching people about non-oil export.
Some of her works on non-oil export include the following

There are a few things that you can do in order to ensure that the article directories will approve your article.
Proofread – Even the most talented writers make mistakes. I find typos in just about every article I write but I proofread every one before submitting. Many article directories will deny your article if it contains misspelled words or improperly composed phrases. It is a good idea to write your article in a word processor such as Word and utilize the spell check feature.
Minimal Links – Some directories allow you to insert links into main keywords of the article body. This is ok as long as you do not insert too many. When publishers are searching for articles to post on their site or e-zine the number of outgoing links is one of the things they look for. They may find an article they really like but they will not publish it if there are a lot of links in the body. It is best to just utilize the signature block, authors area of the article to insert the link to your site.
Advertising – Most article directories will not approve your article if you blatantly advertise your site or service. If you think it could be perceived as personal advertising then do not do it. This includes placing your web site link in the body of the article.
Hard line breaks – These were acceptable in the past but not anymore. You may find a directory that accepts this but it is unlikely. A hard line break occurs when you have one or two line sentences. Authors want to do this because it is supposed to be more readable and the reader is more opt to read the entire article. The reason this is not acceptable anymore is because it just looks bad and unprofessional. To play it safe, write your paragraphs with at least three lines per paragraph.
Indenting – We are not in school anymore so do not indent. Although indenting paragraphs is known to be the standard for most magazine articles etcetera, it is not the standard for article directories. Just start your articles at the far left just like this article.
Above are just a few tips you can use in order to get your articles approved so publishers can post your article and links on their site. If you follow these guidelines you cannot go wrong with most article directories. You may run into some directories that allow some things I frown on but for the most part article directories go by these guidelines.

To handle these social issues efficiently and with confidence, NGOs in India are stepping in as a resource for underprivileged slums by organizing various activities like spreading awareness programmes, rehabilitation programmes for child, education programmes for children, medical and health care programmes.
