My son is 9 years old, doesn’t want to learn at all, but wants to read books constantly on his own. Story books for high school level or interesting non-fiction books. My husband and I are at a total loss as of what to do about the situation. It seems that he is totally uninterested in conventional learning. Also he has a real problem taking orders from any authoritive figure. Any advice?

The legend is supposed to be based on a true event, but have some fiction and fantasy in it. Like Paul Bunyun, he was a real person and was big, but not as big as the legend says and he didn’t create the Grand Canyon or the Mississippi River. It’s for a school assignment, and I really want an A.
I can’t think of what to write for the legend about myself. It’s due tommorow!
It’s been a week, I haven’t even freakin’ started it! I can’t think of what to write!

I’m thinking about starting an online newspaper-type thing for my town, but I’ve never done anything of the sort. Right now, I just want to get started by learning more about journalism. Most of the writing I’ve ever done has been creative (fiction) and want to know what I’m doing before I approach anyone else about this idea.

I’m an incoming Freshman this fall and we’re required to read “Three Cups of Tea” before the term starts. I believe it’s a non-fiction book and I want to be prepared.

Do most college-level reading focus on:

- plots
- themes
- or alliterations/similes/hyperboles/etc. to the point where I’d have to “rape” the book into bits and sections (i.e. extensive note taking) like we had to do in high school?

In other words, what should I look for when reading it?

I am tired of reading mindless authors like Tom Clancy and Damiel Steele. I would like to read a book that I can learn somthing from but do not know where to start. I am not against novels I just want some that make me question things. Non-fiction is also good.

I am a cartoonist starting a semi-science fiction comic. Two of my characters are college students and I was wondering what is a university that makes people say, “Wow! You go THERE! You must be a freakin’ genius!”

I’d like to become a writer of fiction, an actress, or possibly an artist…what should I do in high school to get into that kind of school? I’m not very talented in anything that isn’t creative…so I need to know what I should do! Please help!

M not getting the exact words..but it could be smthng like stranger than fiction and “smthnig” than real/reality…
plz help me..;-)

i don’t want the really goofy ones but i need help writing a fiction piece and i’m having a serious case of writer’s block. i need something for a jumping off point.
