I’ve taught full-time as an English professor at a university–both literature and creative writing. I have a Ph.D. and have published fiction and essays. I want to get a way from the phoney-baloney world of academia. I know teaching in a private high school that has high standards might not be the solution, but I’d like to give it a try. How do I go about seeking jobs in this field?
I am applying to 5 programs in New York City, since that’s where I live, but I’d like to apply to 5 more in other states. I would like some teaching experience. Financial aid would be great, of course. I am a Filipino woman, and would like to go somewhere that supports women of color…but that’s not a necessity. I’d like to hear from people who liked their programs instead of just looking at U.S. New and Review ratings. Any advice is appreciated!
How does euphemism affect non-fiction writing? also how is it applicable to the study of rhetoric?
