Question: Why should I give Tips to a waitress?
I go to a local restaurant here that has single entries and also a good buffet, you walk in and seat yourself, the waitress comes and I told her we all would have the buffet, she wrote it down and said help yourself..
To get the buffet you grab a tray and and grab a large heavy paper plate and foam soup/salad bowls, pick up your plastic pre packged fork/knife,and get your food….at the end of the line you grab a foam cup and get soda, coffee ect…and go to your table and chow down..
while eating your waitress brings you your ticket and says have a nice day… when you want more food you take your tray up and dump the used plate/bowls in the trash and do it all over agian,,,when finished you empty your tray in the trash and put the tray on top the stack..bus boy comes by and wipes off the table.
we went there 3 times had the same waitress, on the third time while we were paying the bill the waitress made the comment to the cashier “”these people never leave a TIP”….
she was extremely PO’ed when I told her why should I leave you a tip when all you did was bring me a piece of paper?
she then said ‘becuase I have bills to pay and they only pay me #3.25 per hour”
She then got even more PO’ed when I told her
“well I didnt tell you to be stupid enough to work for $ 3.25hr”

So basicly should a tip be left when the waitress does nothing but give you a piece of paper? she carried no food,no drinks, didnt clear the table,we did it all ourselves//

Question by Squeegee Beckingheim :-) : He wants me to give him “tips” (advice)?
This kid in my class (“Frank”) approached me today and informed me that he is going to ask this girl (“Zelda”) out. He wants me to make a list of tips for asking Zelda out. First of all, I didn’t want to say this, but this girl is just going to laugh in Frank’s face. She’s extremely popular and pretty, and I know this sounds mean (but it’s true and there’s nothing I can do about it)- Frank doesn’t have a shot with Zelda. (If you knew this guy, you’d know it.) What should I write as tips and should I warn him that she’s going to say no?
One more thing- he’s in the 8th grade (if you were wondering his age) and- for the record- I think 8th grade is too young to date anyway.

It’s the final project for our Poetry and Fiction class. We are tasked to interview a local artist and since interviews are not my forte, I’m really having a hard time just writing down the questions. I’m thinking of breaking down the things I’ll ask about into three parts: background, personal life, professional life. Problem is, I don’t how to start or what opening question I should ask. Help!
