Question: Ways to get the Lady…NOT! Film ideas?
Hey all,
I’m working on a youtube series called “Tips on Relatioships”, it’s nearly all written and filming is set to begin at the end of the month.
What I’ve written so far revolves around methods of approaching women in order to “reel them in”. The main character in the series hosts his own show called “tips on relationships” and gives out (faulty) information on how to develope a successful relationship…all of which the dilusional guy believes is true. Anyway, he goes over a daily “tip” in each episode, each of which he takes out into the real world and practices on real, unsuspecting, random people i.e. some unknown girl at the saturday market.
Long story short – could you girls give me the most pathetic way a guy (who you don’t know) could try and pick you up?

Thanks!

Question: Are works of fiction, “just fiction” as some say, or are there always real ideas behind fictional stories?
I totally agree and feel the people who say this kind of thing don’t really understand literature.

An author always has a meaning or a reason for writing a novel or any work of fiction – and there are always the author’s ideas behind the work. That is like asking if a magician really does magic or is it just illusion.

Question: I’m looking for some “math fiction” books, as opposed to “science fiction.” Any ideas?
I’ve already read Flatland, and already know about some of that books “sequels.” Something similar to those might be nice, or any other ideas you might have. Thanks

Lifted from the gift list of titles relating to physics (for our son), which might serve your purpose:
The End of Mr Y by Scarlett Thomas. Quantum physics, time travel, you name it…
The Iron Bridge by David Morse; dystophic time-travel attempt to change the beginning of the Industrial Revolution in 18th century England.
The Witches of Chiswick by Robert Rankin: In an alternate timeline, Tesla teams up with mathematician Charles Babbage and create a highly advanced version of the 19th Century. Tesla’s perfection of wireless energy transfer combined with Babbage’s computer programming enable the pair to create autonomous robots, airships, and space-bound rocketships.
The Prestige by Christopher Priest: Tesla invents a device resembling the magnifying transmitter, but it succeeds in transmitting not just energy, but matter. The problem is that, while the machine transports matter to another location, it leaves the original matter behind, creating duplicates of objects, animals, and even human beings, with their memories intact.
Note that I haven’t read any of these, just copied down people’s recommendations. But who knows, maybe one of them will be perfect for you, eh?

I have to write a short screenplay for a class. We must have a science fiction idea. It can be funny such as this sketch on SNL called Laser Cats. http://youtube.com/watch?v=K3qUcPEIw2c My friend already took that idea
. It just has to have a basic beginning, middle, end. Please help if you can think of any science fiction ideas. Even a good conflict would be helpful. Thanks!
My teacher asked us to write a fiction… she gave us no more instructions than just that. I’m not very good at dealing with such broad assignments, not to mention I’m having a ridiculously hard time focusing with my senior year finishing up so soon! Any ideas for a story or anything? Thanks
