Question: Why would more people spend their money seeing movies Like “The Da Vinci Code” and?
“The Last Temptations of Christ” than going to church or reading their Bible? IF these movies are “fiction” and IF you’re one to believe the Bible is fiction, than why not read IT??

its all about having an open mind and enjoying the views of others!
Question: Why do people claim they have proof or “evidence” when they have none at all?
Has anyone ever noticed that when people say “The Earth is 6.3 billion years old” there is always a “probably” in between “6.3″ and “is”? How come no one ever points that when people say “Human-like creatures appeared
It’s all theory.
Who are we as mere people to say what it is and what it isn’t? Nothing is certain so what’s the point of all this argument? How can we determine “fiction” from “non-fiction”. Who are we to say everything we know and believe is not the way the other person believes it to be? Maybe this is all a huge joke and Zeus or God or Odin or maybe all three are up there laughing at our “genius”? Then again maybe nothing’s out there but a cold vaccum or it could be whipped cream and chocolate noodles. I have no idea and neither does anyone else so why do we fight?
(Ugh… I need to go lie down)
Sorry sorry I got 6.3 billion from the Earth’s population. I’m 15 cut me some slack. Jeez…

Sciencitic facts are not subject to opinion or belief. You either accept it or reject it. If you reject it, then you show that you do not understand science at all.
What you just wrote shows that you do not understand science, or what a scientific theory is. You’re better off if you learn this first before trying to make an argument against it.
Question: Is life stranger than fiction? What do people really mean when they say “life is stranger than fiction”?

fictional writing is made up stories right. It’s like watching a soap opera (which is fictional) and going “omg that never happens wtf?” So when something like that does happen in real life people usually say “well life is stranger than fiction”
Question: Why is the movie “Pulp Fiction” regarded as a great film? Why do people like it so much?
I saw this movie a few days ago and I was completely confused as to why people like this movie so much. I didn’t even understand the purpose or the meaning of it. Could someone please explain?
Thanks!

Because of it’s sadistic humor.
It also set the basis of an out of sequenced movie set in 3 parts.
Not to mention the story line and the amazing cast.
Question: Do people take fundie author Tim LaHaye seriously?
I have read a couple of his “non-fiction” books where he dissects the book of Revelations in the Bible and his claims are scary. He uses scriptures to back himself up but his interpretations are taken out of context and grasping at straws. He also claims that currently the center of the universe is Rome and is full of evil due to that “because the Bible says so” as well as the idea that Catholics are not Christian no matter what they claim otherwise. He comes across as instead of “I think” or “I believe” but rather “this is how it is because God says so and you’re destined for hell if you believe otherwise”.
Unfortunately I do know a couple people who take his claims to be the gospel truth, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. But is that how most religious people think or are they much more skeptical?

I, being Catholic, could never take him seriously.
Point this out to those people you know –
They no doubt believe that the Catholic Church is the whore of babylon spoken of in Revelation. The problem with this is that the Catholic Church does not sit on seven hills. The “center” of the Church, which most would consider the Vatican sits on one hill, which is not one of the seven that make up Rome. So how can the Church be said whore? It can’t.
I’m supposed to write an essay on that question based on the book “The things they carried” and I really cn’t think of anything….Im so ridiculously tired I can’t focus or think. Any help is much appreciated!
