I want to get into this really good and prestigious preparatory school for high school and I know that on the application they ask you what books you have read lately. I want to be able to say that I have read really mature books (on serious subjects with more advanced vocabulary), unlike the books I usually read. Any suggestions?
(Fiction or non-fiction, it doesn’t matter.)
I’d like books that are related to teenagers, scifi/fiction and really I’m really up to giving any book a chance. Also, I am an AVID Twilight fan like anyone else in the world and world like to look into similiar books. I’m currently reading “The Host,” by Stephenie Meyer.
My 12 year old daughter has read the Twilight series, and just finished a really good book called “Saving Zoe”, but now she’s stumped on what to read. Being 12, she only wants to read young adult, so please no childish books. If you have any suggestions, these are the types of books she likes
anything about vampires
realistic fiction (some at least)
and anything scary
Thanks!
I am writing a short story for english in the form of a diary, but my teacher said it would be really clever if i was able to put in parts that aren’t written in the diary. does anyone know how to do this and is able to give me an example?
P.S. answer as quick as possible i have to write most of tonight please!!
When i was in highschool or college and we had to read fiction, i couldn’t retain anything after reading it. non-fiction books is much better for me because it’s interesting and something that i can relate to. Is thre some reason why i can’t understand or retain what i get out of fiction books. Maybe it’s the vocab or what?? i’m confused. For the most part i read nonfiction books about health, or how to do something in the computer, or history, or how to draw, history of music.. you know things like this. But i wonder if i can ever become good at reading fiction?
if not repetitive, what is that?
(for reference, I’m learning English)
