Try the short stories of F.X. Toole. I got the collection when I was bargain hunting for books- it has his famous short stories, based on his time working in the boxing world. This includes “Million Dollar Baby,” which is what the movie is based off of. It’s really good.
The short stories are in a collection titled “Rope Burns.”
Toole also wrote a novel titled “Pound for Pound.” Try purchasing that one, too.

You might first try a book about grammar and spelling. No book can tell you ideas about which to write. That comes from your own life experiences that you weave into fiction (or non-fiction). No book can teach you HOW to write. You can or you can’t. That simple.
I’m thinking about starting an online newspaper-type thing for my town, but I’ve never done anything of the sort. Right now, I just want to get started by learning more about journalism. Most of the writing I’ve ever done has been creative (fiction) and want to know what I’m doing before I approach anyone else about this idea.
Okay I need to write a 2400 word essay for my term research paper. MLA style. Here’s what I have to write about.. “your goal is to write a literary critical analysis: that is, your mission is to explain the literary side of your author by interpreting his or her works of fiction poetry or drama.” It says not to summarize their life and times but to use that information when analyzing. My dilemma is that with the amount of writing I have to do, how do I structure and outline what I’m going to write so that enough words are used?
if you guys also know how it emerged in the Philippines, that would be very helpful..
please use only the reliable sources. no wikipedia. thank you people!
fantasy fiction: generally speaking. no sub-genres, etc. nada!
