Question: What is “theatre within the theatre?”?
I know that it’s Luigi Pirandello’s big contribution to the world of theatre, but honestly, I haven’t been able to find a legit definition for it. The closest I’ve found is something like “blurring the lines between simulation and fiction,” which doesn’t really mean anything to me. Please help me out!

It is essentially the representation of theatre, within an actual theatre show.
Another example is the play that is put on in Hamlet.
